Schneider Electric Updates Home Manager System with New Features
Schneider Electric's Wiser Home Management technology permits users to access real-time data and predictive analytics to help homeowners fine tune their home energy settings to ensure all of their systems are running at peak efficiency.
As the technologies mature and consumer awareness continues to grow, the demand for energy management solutions will increase. One of the company’s helping to drive the maturation of the technology, as well as consumer awareness is Schneider Electric.
Earlier this spring the Palatine, Ill.-based company announced several updates to its Wiser Home Management System. Schneider describes the Wiser system as a “cruise control” system for a home’s energy systems and as part of the updates the company has augmented its web portal and expanded the availability of its control apps which are now available on the Apple iOS and Android platforms.
With the system homeowners can monitor and control their thermostats from anywhere and they can setup operational parameters to optimize their energy efficiency and comfort. The updated energy system’s Utility Operations web portal allows users to manage home locations, and to view functions such analytics and forecasts; manage internal users generate reports. The Utility Operations Dashboard gives users the ability to set budget goals and view energy consumption figures against the budget goals, as well as view and automate thermostats from anywhere to control temperatures while no one is home and return the temperatures to normal levels once the homes are occupied again.
Other features include the ability to use smart plug solutions to manage specific devices such as lighting, including turning these products on and off, and the ability to view energy consumption to detect usage patterns. The system also lets users participate in demand response programs and events. These options permit homeowners to manage their ability to opt in or out of events and benefit from any types of savings the events may offer.
Schneider says the Wiser Home Energy Management System includes an energy monitor, smart thermostat, in-home display, smart plug and other load controls in addition to access to the web portals and free mobile device apps.
