Savant SmartSystems Controllers Replace Rosie, Protege
Savant's SmartSystems solutions, which all include an iTunes-based digital media server, manage lighting, climate, security, and more.
Savant‘s Rosie and Protege platforms are about to become history. Savant has released a new line of audio/video products, SmartSystems, that will replace the existing Rosie and Protege control offerings.
The SmartSystems solutions, which all include an iTunes-based digital media server, can manage a range of applications, including lighting, climate and security functions.
The new line of products include:
SmartControl: The SmartControl SSC-0007 and SSC-0025 are control-only devices that are designed to connect with audio/video, lighting, climate, security and more. Both models fit neatly within a compact 1U half rack-style enclosure. The SSC-0007 features the following control ports: six Infrared (6), RS-232 Serial (1), and Ethernet port (10/100 Base-T) (1), while the SSC-0025 has RS-232 Serial (8), IR (6), Relay ports (3), General Purpose IO (7), and Ethernet Port (1).
SmartAudio: The SmartAudio SSA-3000 is a multiroom audio and whole-house control solution packaged in a 2U enclosure. SmartAudio delivers stereo preamp processing, including independent control of volume, balance, bass, treble and mute.
SmartAudio enables music distribution in up to eight zones, with the flexibility to play the same content throughout the home or unique content in each room simultaneously and independently. SmartAudio can controlled with an iPhone, iPod touch or iPad using Savant’s TrueControl app.
SmartVideo: The SmartVideo SSV-1000 provides a single zone of TrueCommand (on-TV menu system), video processing and scaling, video switching all within a space-saving 1U enclosure. SmartVideo also includes an integrated video processor capable of enhancing images using de-interlacing technology and expanded 12-bit color processing..
SmartMedia: The SmartMedia SSM-3100 is a system that delivers distributed audio, video switching, a single zone of TrueCommand and integrated control capability, all within a 2U fanless chassis. The SSM-3100 is capable of distributing music in up to eight zones with the flexibility to play the same content throughout the home or unique content in each room simultaneously and independently. Other features include:
- Distributing six audio sources to eight rooms or zones
- 6 x 1 fast video switching
- HDMI 1.4 compatible and HDCP compliant
- Video processing, scaling and de-interlacing
- 12 control ports including serial, IR, relay and General Purpose IO
- Stereo Preamp Processing including independent control of volume, balance, bass, treble and mute
- Playback of up to four independent iTunes sources (external host required, not included)
