Flying in from far warmer locations such as Southern California and Georgia, industry professionals met just outside of Boston in chilly Burlington, Mass. to provide residential and commercial dealers a glimpse of their 2015 product lines.

This collaboration of manufacturers and dealers is the result of the efforts of the N.J.-based rep firm Sapphire Marketing and its annual Boston Roadshow event.

Each year during the late winter time frame, the rep company makes a trip up Route 95 to showcase brands such as Crestron, Digital Projection, Leon Speakers, Middle Atlantic, Planar, Pro Audio Technology, Stewart Filmscreen and Torus Power.

Highlighting the activities at the event that runs March 3-4 are educational seminars, product demonstrations and manufacturer meetings. Some of the prominent product displays include Crestron’s app-based Pyng automation system, Digital Projection’s 12,000 lumen Insight 4K laser projector, and Pro Audio Technology’s home theater system.

Looking specifically at Pro Audio Technology’s activities at the event, the West Coast manufacturer is demonstrating a system that features three SCR-12sm speakers, two LFC-15sm speakers, two SCRS-26im speakers, one PMA-4242 amp, one PMA-9942 amp, and one PMA-2222 amp. Filling out the theater is a Stewart Filmscreen 2.35:1 screen and Digital Projection projector.

During a personal demonstration, the California company ran a clip of Ginger Baker’s drum solo from the Cream reunion show “Cream: Royal Albert Hall—London May 2, 3, 5, 6 2005” DVD. Sitting in an empty row of seats, the demo experience makes it seem like you are standing next to Baker’s drum riser and in front of Eric Clapton’s amplifier backline. The volume and dynamics the system recreated deliver a true concert experience, and its combination with the Stewart screen and Digital Projection projector really highlights the capabilities of a high-performance home theater system.

Here’s part of the Cream reunion dates from the band’s 2005 run at the Royal Albert Hall:
