R-I-A-A to the Tune of YMCA
You know that college student who had to fork over $675,000 for music he shared on Kazaa? Evidently, the artists get none of the money and it goes instead to the "industry" as represented by the RIAA. The ruling reminded me of a song that a few CE ladies performed at a CEA Summit in 2004. It goes like this:

The ruling reminded me of a song that a few CE ladies performed at a CEA Summit in 2004. It goes like this:
Sung to the tune of YMCA
Young men ... you deserve to do time
For committing ... such a serious crime
You have crippled ... the music industry
Because YOU down-loaded Britney.
Just stay away from the RIAA
And all their friends at the MPAA.
They had years to prepare
For the Internet scare
But they sat on their derriere.
Record ... makers suddenly found
That CD sales ... were dramatically down
So they did the ... only thing they could do
They got THEIR lawyers to sue sue sue.
Actors ... and producers are poor.
They are knocking ... hard on poverty’s door.
You have ruined ... all the Hollywood stars
Because YOU invented VCRs.
