ProSource Expert Warehouse Partners with Portal
ProSource inks deal to partner with distributor Portal to bring its product research tool and proposal software to the buying group's Expert Warehouse distribution arm.
Buying group ProSource has partnered with Portal to bring its web-based proposal and purchasing platform to Expert Warehouse, the exclusive national distributor to ProSource members. The partnership leverages a data integration with Expert Warehouse making it easier for ProSource members to propose and purchase ProSource vendor products from Expert Warehouse.
Portal collects and organizes industry product information – including pricing, availability, specifications, videos, and more – and then presents it in a comprehensive, yet intuitive web catalog that is unique to every user. With this catalog, Portal offers a single place for dealers to research, propose, and order all of their products online. The integration to Expert Warehouse gives ProSource members access to up-to-date product data, pricing, and stock availability from the exclusive ProSource distributor.
In addition to the catalog and ordering, Portal’s built-in proposal tool offers dealers an easier way to build fast, accurate proposals without having to manage the product data and pricing.
“The Expert Warehouse committee determined that a partnership with Portal was a unique opportunity to improve service to ProSource members by making it easy for members to purchase all the Expert Warehouse brands and earn additional rewards,” says Dave Workman, CEO and president of ProSource. “This is a great benefit for our members and demonstrates the mutual commitment of Portal and ProSource to help both vendors and members to do business with one another.”
Sheri Griffin of Home Theater Design Group in Addison, Texas, and longtime ProSource member, says, “As we build proposals or manage our purchasing, having instant access to accurate product information, including stock availability and pricing is critical to our company’s ability to stay profitable. Both Portal and ProSource are two of our most important strategic partners. Portal saves us time, and Expert Warehouse saves us money. Their partnership is a great benefit for every ProSource member.”
Andres Klein, president at Maxicon LLC, a large ProSource integrator in South Florida, notes, “Portal’s proposal tool has allowed our integration company to close deals faster and grow our business. Once a proposal is accepted by my client, being able to click a button to order products from our suppliers from a single place increases efficiency.”
Portal’s industry rewards program pays dealers an additional 1 percent, at a minimum, on purchase orders – on top of existing programs from their suppliers. Chris Hudson with Connected Home, a ProSource member based in North Carolina, earns an extra $1,000 per month in rewards with Portal’s industry rewards program. “Portal saves me time doing what I already have to do – purchasing – and gives us cash back,” Hudson comments.
Kirk Chisholm, CEO and founder of Portal, says, “Partnering together helps ProSource members leverage Expert Warehouse’s incredible buying power and efficient fulfillment by making it easy to find product information and place orders. Our shared goal of making it easier for dealers to do business with their vendors made this partnership a no-brainer.”
