Effective immediately, Christopher R. Leader has been named as the new president and chief executive officer (CEO) for Paradigm, MartinLogan and Anthem.

Leader’s career spans more than 25 years, and the newly named president and CEO of the three respected audio companies states he brings to the position strong leadership skills, technical expertise, innovative thinking, and concentrated experience in operations and manufacturing with an emphasis on global manufacturing and growth. His experience working with companies who sell through specialty dealer networks will be invaluable in his new role.

Commenting on his latest career development, Leader says he looks forward to the challenge of heading up three of the top manufacturers in the consumer audio market.

“I am passionate about customer service and understand the importance of delivering products that not only meet, but surpass the expectations of our dealers and their customers,” he says. “I look forward to guiding the growth and success of the Paradigm, MartinLogan and Anthem brands on a world stage, and solidifying their position as leaders in the CE [consumer electronics] marketplace.”

Leader’s most recent position was as managing partner at Hi-Beam Consulting where Leader spearheaded global growth strategies and implemented significant operational improvements. Prior to Hi-Beam, Leader was president and COO of Hoshizaki America, Inc., a subsidiary of the $2.1 billion Japanese food service equipment manufacturer. Under his stewardship, the company set new records for sales, profit and growth of market share.

Prior to that Leader served for more than a decade as vice president, operations at Skyline Corporation (NYSE:SKY), which was a $665 million company that designs, produces and markets manufactured housing, modular homes and RVs. Similar to Paradigm, MartinLogan and Anthem, Skyline is supported by an independent specialty dealer base. During his tenure at Skyline, Leader initiated change throughout the organization to drive significant lean and quality improvements.

Other roles Leader has held during his multi-decade career include vice president, operations at Trek Bicycle where he helped drive company growth. The three brands point out that like Skyline, MartinLogan, Paradigm and Anthem, Trek also sells through an independent specialty dealer network and his experience with specialty dealer networks played a role in his choice as president and CEO of the audio companies.

Leader holds a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from the University of Michigan where he was a GM Fellow and Henry Ford II Scholar, graduating first in his class. He is also an American Society for Quality (ASQ), Certified Quality Engineer. Leader began his career serving as a U.S. Naval Officer and was a Naval Reserve Officers Training Corp (NROTC) scholar.
