Niles Audio will serve up tunes all over your client’s house, with its newly announced MRC-6430 whole-home audio controller. The new product is designed to put six different music sources at your customer’s fingertips—in up to six different rooms.

The MRC-6430 is powered by the company’s Auriel software and can be accessed using the Auriel app for iOS and Android devices. That software can deliver control, but also puts in the possibility for expansion into lighting, remote management and HVAC control.

Besides the app, the system has other user-friendly control options, including a handheld remote, a seven-button keypad, and a choice of touchpanel devices, as well as Windows and Mac computers.

Once installed, users can listen to any source in any room at any time, even if someone is already listening in another room. The digital amplifier delivers 30 watts to each zone, with each area getting its own bass, treble and volume controls in the Auriel interface.

Promising an easy setup process, the MRC-6430 can be paired with the Niles DBI-2 interface so that the doorbell can even be part of the system. Larger homes can also opt for two MRC-6430s for a six-source, 12-zone system.

“With Auriel and the MRC-6430, we are making multiroom audio simpler than ever to install and use,” says Yann Connan, director of the audio segment for Core Brands, Niles Audio’s parent company under Nortek (NSDQ: NTK). “The number one concern for buyers is that multiroom audio controllers are complicated, so we developed the Auriel software to show them just how accessible it can be. With any smartphone, tablet or Niles in-wall touchpanel, users can now quickly select what source they want to play and in which rooms they want it to play.”

Here are some features highlights, according to Niles:

  • Chassis Control: Six unique zones with six distinct input sources.
  • Source Control: Two-way metadata, IP and IR control of a variety of popular devices. Auriel includes an extensive pre-defined IR database.
  • Home Theater Control: Manage audio and video components effortlessly.
  • Easy Configuration: Tablet-based configuration eliminates hours of complicated programming. The Niles MRC-6430 Wizard easily configures macros, user interfaces and end user favorites in minutes.
  • Mobile App: IOS and Android applications control the MRC-6430 to queue up sounds at a moment’s notice.
  • Best-in-Class Software Platform: Niles Auriel software platform scales for feature expansion including lighting and climate/thermostat control.
  • TCP/IP: A simple backbone for control with no proprietary wiring.
  • Metadata: When connected to compatible devices, Niles Auriel delivers metadata to wide selection of user interfaces.

The MRC-6430 controller measures 17 1/4 x 4 15/16 x 12 7/8 (width x height x depth) inches and weighs 18 pounds.
