With one eye on the current usage trends of consumers, including the growing reliance on cloud-based services, HP says today's consumers are increasingly using social media sites, online storage services and web-based programs to back activities such as storing photos, music and videos on the web.

That's why HP designed its new Stream line of laptops to switch seamlessly from these activities to your standard work-related tasks through the inclusion of a new Wi-Fi antenna design, improved batteries that run longer, and industrial designs that foster their use as on-to-go computing solutions.

"We've enjoyed positive feedback about the HP Stream family, which for many consumers is exactly what they need to access content and services in the cloud from wherever they are," says Kevin Frost, vice president and general manager, consumer personal systems at HP. "We've continued to raise the bar on this popular cloud-based notebook to make it even more portable, more attractive and affordable for consumers."

The newly updated line of products includes an 11.6-inch laptop, and a new 14-inch Stream notebook, and an 11.6-inch HP Stream x360 that converts into four positions as laptop mode (for work, for example), standing mode (for entertainment), table mode (for mobile applications) and tent mode (for sharing).

HP points out some of Stream's features include dual antenna 802.11ac 2x2 wireless for improved connectivity, USB 3.0 ports, and a choice of four colors.
