Not everyone has the space to accommodate a huge audio system. Apartment dwellers, condo owners, and homeowners interested in creating an intimate listening environment demand great sound from a smaller package. Marantz caters to this crowd with the recent release of its M-CR612 hi-res network CD receiver.

The hi-fi mini system offers voice-accessible streaming and multi-room listening capabilities. It can stream content from TuneIn, Pandora, Spotify, SiriusXM, Amazon Prime Music, TIDAL, local file content and more via the HOES app, AirPlay2, and Bluetooth.

It also incorporates a built-in CD player to offer users an opportunity to enjoy both new and old audio content.

Additionally, the receiver can connect via two digital audio inputs to a TV or cable/satellite set-top box to provide digital audio playback of movies and TV shows.

Marantz says dealers can program the M-CR612 to work with a TV’s remote for volume, mute and source selection. Or, the product can be controlled via leading voice assistants, including Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple Siri.

The M-CR612 decodes hi-res audio ALAC, FLAC, and WAV lossless files up to 24-bit/192kHz, as well as DSD 2.8MHz and 5.6MHz tracks. It will also play CD, WMA/MP3 (CD-R/RW), and features an AM/FM tuner.

Power and connectivity is flexible, too: 60W x 2 channels (6 ohms), or 4 x 30W for speaker A/B with individual volume settings with the option to connect a pair of audiophile bi-amp compatible speakers as well.

The compact M-CR612 features a durable acrylic top plate cover. Deluxe vertical lighting accents on the front panel offer four user-selectable choices to match the cosmetics of the room. Also on the front panel is a three-line OLED display.

The M-CR612 Network CD Receiver carries a suggested retail price of $699.
