Legrand Updates On-Q Intuity Automation System
According to Legrand, the newly refreshed Intuity 2.0 firmware improves the ease-of-use for homeowners to provide dealers with a cost- and consumer-friendly automation platform.
Over on the On-Q side of the booth, the company showed its Intuity family designed to fulfill the production building market's desire to offer home control and automation without breaking the bank. Acting proactively, On-Q announced that it has issued its Intuity 2.0 firmware update. It points out this move adds four new product partners that include Nest thermostats, Linear garage door openers, Schlage locks and Aeotec Z-Wave Range Extender solutions.
"It's paramount for our installers, builders and end users that we provide the most satisfying user experience," says Fritz Werder, vice president and general manager of Legrand's On-Q and NuVo product lines. "Maximizing that experience from the standpoint of being able to offer control of the specific devices a user wants, and ensuring that access is simple and reliable, is exactly what we're doing with Intuity."
The Intuity line already supports products from Kwikset, Yale, Honeywell, Trane and GE/Interlogix. The newly announced firmware supports Schlage Z-Wave FE599 and BE469 door locks, Nest B16 (T200577) gen 2 and T3007ES (gen 3) thermostats, as well as Linear's GD00Z-4 garage door opener and Aeotec's Z-Wave Range Extender (model AEDSD37ZWUS). The company has also updated the system's user interface.
"We want to ensure our installers have maximum flexibility in meeting their customers' needs, and we'll continue to work diligently to do so," Werder says.
The 2.0 version will begin to ship preinstalled in early November. On-Q will notify dealers and existing users to update the system and corresponding apps.
