Kaleidescape Goes the Rep Route with 8 Firms Appointed (UPDATED)
After 10 years of going dealer-direct, media server maker Kaleidescape has added eight independent reps to its U.S. sales and support team.
Updated 5/11/2015 with reps’ names and territories below.
Kaleidescape, the maker of high-end media servers, is adding independent reps to its sales and support team after 10 years of going dealer-direct.
Eight reps were named for Metro New York, the Mid-Atlantic, Florida, Greater Los Angeles, the Mountain States, Texas, the Great Lakes, and New England. CE Pro will post those reps when we receive that information.
“The move marks a milestone in Kaleidescape’s decade-long sales history and reflects a growing corporate commitment to improving sales support at the national and local levels,” the company says in a press release.
Kaleidescape also broke with tradition recently when it joined the buying groups Azione Unlimited and HTSA.
Other recent sales changes at Kaleidescape include the quick turnover of two high-profile VP of sales – Buzz Goddard and Mark Weisenberg—both of whom lasted only a few months at the company.
Kaleidescape says the chief motivation for appointing reps is to “support Kaleidescape’s continuing expansion into lower price point, higher volume product segments.” Last year the company released the $2,500 Alto machine to complement its online movie store. Kaleidescape has hinted at even lower-priced products in the future.
UPDATE: The reps are:
Atlantic Integrated - Metro New York
Bishop Audio Services - Northeast
ByDesign Vision & Sound Marketing - Southern Calif.
C&E Marketing - Florida
Elite 3 Pro - South Central
Momentum Group - Rocky Mountain
NuTech Group - Mid Atlantic
Tandem Marketing - Midwest
The entire press release announcing the new reps is below:
SUNNYVALE, Calif.—Kaleidescape, Inc. today announced a new initiative designed to better support the increasing sales and marketing requirements of its U.S. distribution network.
Under the program, eight leading manufacturer representative (rep) firms will immediately expand the footprint of the company’s existing national sales force. The move marks a milestone in Kaleidescape’s decade-long sales history and reflects a growing corporate commitment to improving sales support at the national and local levels.
“Today, we’re joining forces with some of the nation’s most respected and experienced manufacturer rep firms to make the Kaleidescape experience a more profitable one for dealers in our best-performing markets,” said Cheena Srinivasan, Kaleidescape Founder & CEO. “It is a very exciting period for our company and we’re proud to welcome these accomplished professionals to our team.”
The restructuring of the U.S. sales operation represents an important decision for the brand. The primary objective is to support Kaleidescape’s continuing expansion into lower price point, higher volume product segments and is a strategic cornerstone of that decision.
The eight firms are located in Metro New York, the Mid-Atlantic, Florida, Greater Los Angeles, the Mountain States, Texas, the Great Lakes, and New England.
“We were intent on finding rep firms that shared our forward-thinking approach to serving today’s rapidly changing marketplace,” added Srinivasan. “Our dealers will feel the benefits immediately as will their clients, and this important move will serve to take Kaleidescape to even greater sales successes moving forward.”
