Inside Clare Controls’ CEDIA Expo 2013 Booth
Clare Controls used CEDIA Expo 2013 to venture outside the control category and to introduce a new line of problem-solving products for custom integrators. We take a video tour of the company's booth at the show.
Clare Controls used CEDIA Expo 2013 as a means to branch out of controls and launch its Select Program that promises a growing line of problem-solving components for custom integrators. It also showed an Android version of its Clare Control App that will be available in Q4 2013.
The amp.1640 and amp.7150 led the way in booth #2950. The amp.1640 packs 16-channels (eight zones) of Class D amplification into a cool-running, 1 U rack-mounted chassis. Using technologies designed by IcePower, the amp.1640 uses an advanced switched-mode power supply to drive 16 channels, delivering 40 watts into 8 ohms. The amp.1640 is stable to 4 ohm.
The amp.7150 is a premium seven-channel amplifier based on IcePower Class D amplification technology. The amp.7150 delivers 150W into 8 ohms, with audiophile audio quality, and is stable to 4 ohms. Clare says the 7150 is designed to be used in pairs to enable integrators to deliver 14 channels of amplification at 150 watts per channel in two rack spaces.
In the video below, Clare Controls’ VP of marketing Brigitte McCarthy takes us through the aforementioned products, as well as the CLIQ.host integrated controller and CLIQ.connect module for its cloud-based home automation system.
