The Sunnyvale, Calif.-based company Atlona Inc. offers electronics professionals one of the most extensive product lines in the entire residential and commercial A/V markets. The company’s vast product line ranges from basic cable and adapters, to advanced wireless A/V transmission solutions, distribution amplifiers, testing equipment and signal management products.

A couple of weeks ago the company announced its latest signal management solution: the new AT-H2H-44M 4x4 matrix switcher. Atlona says its latest switching product is a versatile device that can be used in the home to distribute a variety of content. “The At-H2H-44M 4x4 HDMI matrix switcher is the perfect solution to consumers’ whole-house entertainment needs,” boasts Steve Heintz, professional product manager, Atlona. “Packed with a full range of advanced features, the unit ensures that users will have the highest digital quality experience when watching a movie or giving a presentation and much more.”

Atlona equips the switcher with the ability to support high-speed HDMI, uncompressed digital multichannel audio switching, a choice of control options and advanced EDID management capabilities. The company says the unit’s advanced EDID management ensures compatibility across multiple display types, as well as communications between sources and displays, and it automatically provides a compatible EDID during start up. Other EDID functions include a learning feature that can be customized to accommodate any connected component such as A/V receivers, set-top boxes (STBs) and displays.

Other features incorporated into the AT-H2H-44M 4x4 matrix switcher include S/PDIF audio loops out, in-field upgrade capabilities, an audio return channel (ARC) and a choice of RS-232 and IR control. Later the company says it will bolster the matrix switcher with a TCP/IP control option.
