Former Niles Executive Mike Detmer Joins Russound
Following the release of its X Series of wireless audio products, Russound has hired Mike "Sparky" Detmer to serve as its new vice president of sales and marketing.
Russound has announced former Niles Audio executive and custom A/V industry veteran Mike “Sparky” Detmer is joining the company as its new vice president of sales and marketing.
Beginning immediately Detmer will help the company improve its sales and marketing organization to better support its customers and promote its newly introduced streaming audio products.
Charlie Porritt, CEO of Russound, says the addition of Detmer will aid the company’s efforts to communicate with dealers and consumers.
“Detmer’s extensive experience in the custom A/V installation channel will invigorate the Russound brand and better serve the market’s needs,” he comments. “Detmer’s technical knowledge and sales and marketing capabilities fit Russound’s business initiatives that focus on enhanced customer relationships, product development, and brand building.”
Responding to the opportunity to contribute to Russound’s immediate and future growth, Detmer says he is excited to help the N.H.-based company in today’s competitive marketplace.

Detmer brings with him more than three decades of consumer electronics experience. Before joining Russound, he served as president Niles Audio, as well as the vice president of Krell Industries, Inc. and director of training and product management at Infinity Systems, Inc. In addition, Detmer is a contributing writer for several industry publications. He is an active member of the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA).
