Electronic Custom Distributors Joins PowerHouse Alliance

Texas-based Electronic Custom Distributors (ECD) is the newest member of the PowerHouse Alliance distributors group.

Electronic Custom Distributors (ECD) is the newest member of the PowerHouse Alliance, an 11-member distributors organization.

ECD is a three-branch, 50-year-old audio/video/automation/security/wire/telecommunications distributor serving the U.S. with an inventory that includes products from more than 100 vendors, with more than 6,000 in-stock items.

“We are expecting big things from ECD,” says Dennis Holzer, executive director of PowerHouse, who also noted that the alliance is “doing very well.” ECD was most recently a member of the Digital Delivery Group (DDG) distributors organization.

PowerHouse needed to add a member for its Texas/Louisiana/Arkansas/Oklahoma/Mississippi territory after the departure of WAVE Electronics, which decided to go national.

ECD has branches in Houston, Austin and Dallas. The company is headed by CEO C.J. Provenzano and boasts an online ordering system that allows integrators immediate assurance of in-stock product. ECD was formed back in June 1960 by partners Charlie Provenzano (father of C.J.) and Mel Gordon.

“We were able to replace WAVE in less than a week,” notes Holzer. “Almost all the vendors are falling into the place with ECD. We can’t expect them to be able to pick up every vendor immediately, but they will all be phased in over six months.”
