Since its launch in the late 1970s, the European speaker company Dynaudio has been producing some of the most sought after speakers in the professional and consumer audio markets.

Adding to its line of active, wireless loudspeakers for the consumer market, the company has announced its Xeo 2 product. Dynaudio says the Xeo 2 is a small-footprint speaker product that incorporates its Danish industrial design heritage along with advanced electronics and DSP technologies that, "works wonders with anything from a phone or TV, to more traditional music sources such as CD players or music streamers."

Developed to service the critical sound quality demands of audiophiles, the Xeo 2 also provides the convenience features that lifestyle consumers require from their audio equipment, including a choice of digital Toslink (24-bit/192kHz) and analog RCA inputs. The speaker also works with its Dynaudio Hub and Connect wireless transmitters, which provide additional source and multiroom audio connectivity options.

Other audio options built into the Xeo 2 speaker include Bluetooth with aptX and AAC support. In addition, the speaker features room equalization (EQ) options that are as easy to use as simply flipping a switch. Dynaudio's EQ functions allow dealers to choose "freestanding," "near a corner" and "near a wall" to customize the output curve of the speaker to match its room placement.

Internally, the speaker utilizes a two-way design that is highlighted by a 5.5-inch woofer; a 1.06-inch tweeter and dedicated 65-watt amplifiers for each driver. The drivers and electronics reside in a bass reflex enclosure design. Dynaudio adds that it offers an optional stand for the speaker to enable the speaker to rest next to TVs or alone in space within a room.

The speaker is rated to deliver 40Hz to 24kHz frequency response, VESA mounting holes that allows dealers to wall mount the product, and a choice of either black or white finishes.
