Denon to Expand with HEOS Link, HEOS Amp
New HEOS Link and HEOS Amp will soon join the three recent HEOS speakers from Denon Electronics.
At the very beginning of this summer, Denon Electronics announced plans to get into wireless multiroom music. The company launched a trio of Wi-Fi-enabled speakers, under the HEOS line.
Now Denon is looking to expand that multiroom sound system, as well as get some of your existing equipment into the act. The company will start shipping the HEOS Link and the HEOS Amp in mid-August.
The HEOS Link allows users to integrate existing audio products into “the HEOS ecosystem.” It works with pretty much anything with an input jack. Just connect the Link preamplifier to any existing home theater or music system via analog, digital coaxial or fiber-optic cable. From there, the setup will treat that existing equipment like it’s a separate wireless HEOS audio zone. It also allows you to control that existing equipment using the HEOS app.
Besides adding in the option to play any song in any room on demand, the HEOS Link has a USB port, a 12-volt trigger, a subwoofer pre-out, and dual-band Wi-Fi.
The HEOS Amp can add wireless multiroom audio functionality to any pair of stereo loudspeakers. That means it can be used with outdoor speakers, in-ceiling speakers, floorstanding speakers, or bookshelf models. It also has a 100-watt Class D digital amplifier and boasts low distortion and high current capability. Other features include analog and optical digital inputs, a subwoofer pre-out, a USB input, and dual-band Wi-Fi.
HEOS can be used with a variety of digital selections, from streaming online services and smart devices to connected PCs, Macs and NAS drives. Also worth mentioning is that the HEOS app works with both iOS and Android devices, providing a slew of features at your fingertips and an easy setup process without any additional hardware.
The HEOS Link and the HEOS Amp will start selling sometime this month priced at $349 and $499, respectively. The new products will join the current HEOS lineup, which includes the HEOS 3, the HEOS 5 and the HEOS 7 speakers, all of which are selling now.
