CineTouch Lowers Dealer Pricing for Home Automation UI
CineTouch has reduced the price of its preconfigured user interface products to enable AMX dealers to compete on a broader range of control and automation jobs.
CineTouch says its most dramatic price reductions are for smaller systems as the prices have been cut by as much as 56 percent to help dealers offer AMX solutions in every price range.
As a result of the price reductions, total dealer cost for a one-room home theater with a touchpanel and CineTouch software now starts at under $900. The new pricing scales all the way up to a 50-room distributed video system with environmental control, security and a host of options that can be added at any time without reprogramming.
In addition, another component of the company’s new pricing policy is its “MiniMote” brand. This new product line is designed for small AMX home automation panels, and Apple and Android phones and tablets. Tailored for viewing on a small screen in either a portrait or landscape mode, the simplified controls of the MiniMote provide electronics professionals with a customizable user interface (UI) that supplements any system at a price much lower than a full size panel.
“We’ve seen market pressures leading our dealers to only show AMX and CineTouch for high budget proposals. They offer other brands of less powerful and less flexible control systems when they suspect that price is a limitation. That gives customers mixed messages about the value of a better system,” states Russ Maynard, CEO and head of sales for CineTouch. “To help our dealers to offer AMX-based systems at every price point, we took $500 off the top of our software’s suggested retail price; reduced the incremental costs of most of our UI devices, and created a new class of reduced-price interfaces. The new MiniMote bridges the gap between simple remotes and larger touchpanels.”
