CE Pro Video Q&A: WAVE Electronics Outlines Big Plans for Elura Speaker Line
Distributors WAVE Electronics plans to add more speakers to the premium Elura line, as well as a soundbar and subwoofer. High-margin Elura house brand maintains has protected distribution for dealers.
The response WAVE Electronics has received from integrators to its Elura speakers has been so positive that the distributor has big plans for expanding the product line.
To date, there are 20 speakers in the line, according to Ainslie Fukuda, vice president of purchasing and merchandising. Going forth, he says the company will be adding more models to the premium blue label Elura by Sonance line, along with a soundbar and a subwoofer. Fukuda is especially excited about the subwoofer development, noting his love for bass.
At CEDIA 2016, the company had listening pods in its booth. Fukuda says dealers were amazed at the wide soundstage being projected from the 6.5-inch speakers.
Mark Fukuda, president, explains that the company drew upon years of knowledge to develop the Elura line with spectral balance, ease of installation and high efficiency were the focus.
"We didn't need a fancy package or a speaker that had a lot of features that really didn't make it sound better but would cost the dealer more money. So we focused on what mattered," he says. "Also, it has protected distribution and dealers can make more money."
