What can CE pros learn from your company to make them think differently and run their business better?

Every client wants the same experience of the theater at home. It is that simple.

Our job is to do a little homework with the client to ensure we fully understand what they want, what type of theater the client really envisions.

Always remember it is the client’s vision. We are just a team member. Our job is to do whatever it takes to make that vision a reality.

We are the professionals and when the client asks for an opinion we must give them our professional insight. This will impact the client’s vision and can change the outcome of everything. It’s difficult sometimes not to impact the original vision of the client. So, let me repeat myself here: It is the client’s vision; we are not creating our own.

What trade tip can you offer your fellow CE pros?

Customer service is an art form that most companies do not develop. Like any talent it must be developed.

What’s the wildest request you’ve ever had for an installation?

We had a very private client who was particular about security and had us install a biometric security system. At all entries a snapshot of the visitor is sent to a logging database and also to the client’s smart phone real time.

What is your 3D strategy and do you think the technology will live up to the hype? 

3D is here and I think here to stay.

Every home entertainment system should include all the latest, greatest technology or the system can not deliver the sight and sounds intended by the modern filmmaker.

Our goal is to deliver the message as it was intended to be delivered.

What is your absolute favorite piece of audio demo material?

Audio spectrum analyzer is one of those gee-whiz type of demonstration pieces. We can show the client the sounds live in color. We can deliver the quality and visually prove it to the client as well. I also like using Rush albums as demos.

What is your absolute favorite piece of video demo material?

RTI’s IR PRO is really more of a tool. It captures IR codes enabling us to manipulate any system new or old.

Sometimes we use tools that don’t work as advertised, but this tool delivers.

Also, anything by Pixar, Hellboy 2 and Planet Earth are visually stunning .

What is something most people don’t know about you?

I actually like working with people. And I used to work for NASA.
