CE Pro 100 Brand Analysis: Top Outdoor Video
SunBriteTV, Seura lead the way in the most used outdoor video brands in the 2014 CE Pro 100 Brand Analysis.
In this comprehensive CE Pro 100 brand analysis series, CE Pro senior editor Bob Archer delivers an in-depth look at the most frequently used manufacturers in nearly 40 product categories. The numbers associated with each manufacturer reflect the number of CE Pro 100 dealers using that brand.
The brands that are used by the CE Pro 100 are closely watched because these are the most successful companies in the industry. Many integrators look to the brands that are being used by these companies as a signal of success. This brand usage differs from rank and file integrator usage because it does not include brands that are sold through distribution typically, but focuses on direct-to-dealer brands.
Now in its second year, the outdoor video category finds SunBriteTV and Seura leading the pack by a large margin. The distance between the top two brands is sizable, but Green Bay, Wis.-based Seura has added dealers in contrast to SunBriteTV dropping several dealers in 2014’s listing. It is not clear if Samsung’s entry into the category indicates whether dealers are using its TV products or whether it is a combination of its security and TV products. Several security brands were mentioned by dealers in this category, including Speco, Honeywell, Interlogix, Bosch and Axis Communications as vendors employed for their outdoor video surveillance installations.
