Booths at CEDIA Expo Create Strange Bedfellows
Access Networks is supplying network infrastructure for competitors ihiji and Certified Cyber Solutions, and competitors Savant and Vantage.
In many ways, building a booth for CEDIA Expo 2011 is like constructing a sand castle at the beach. It takes a lot of hard work, is wondrous when it’s completed, and then “gets washed away” after just three short days.
Building these momentary exhibits is complicated and often requires manufacturers to partner with each other to bring the technology to life. Display manufacturers need switchers and cable; cable companies need displays; projector companies need screens. Sometimes, strange bedfellows can be made.
Encino, Calif.-based network infrastructure Access Networks will play a vital role in making sure the demos for the aforementioned companies and in the CEDIA’s Future Technology Pavilion (booth #4754) go smoothly. With all the RFI and competing wireless technologies that will be floating around the Indiana Convention Center trying to communicate with each other, that is no small feat.
ihiji (booth #4732) will be demo’ing its invision cloud-based remote monitoring and support system and plans to highlight its latest features, hardware, and partnerships. New features on display will include the new map views of client sites and equipment, drag-and-drop remote power management, new documentation capabilities, and a revamped, mobile-friendly interface. Additionally, ihiji will be premiering its ability to extend beyond the home IP network and into ZigBee nodes behind gateways like AMX, Control4 and Crestron.
Along with new technology and features, ihiji’s exhibit will also showcase ongoing manufacturer partnerships and deep integration with leading companies including Access Networks. A main component of the booth will be monitoring network connected devices on an enterprise grade network provided by Access Networks.
“The network is the digital foundation of the home and the primary building block for a reliable deployment both in the field and at CEDIA Expo,” says Aaron Gutin, vice president of sales at Access Networks. “We are honored to support ihji’s CEDIA booth and proud to be a part of the exciting developments taking place in the networking and network monitoring categories.”
ihiji has partnered with Access Networks to provide the network infrastructure that will service the technology in ihiji’s booth. The Access Unity Network will be monitored in real-time by ihiji’s invision software. The same network will be in place in the CCS booth (#519). In fact, Access Networks actually have a jointly shared booth at the Expo.
“Our decision to partner with Access Networks was based both on the outstanding feedback we’ve heard from our dealers and their reputation for delivering properly configured and robust enterprise-grade networks,” says Michael Maniscallco of ihiji. “Knowing we can simply plug in a properly configured network in a crowded networking environment such as CEDIA, provides ihiji with the foundation to achieve success at this year’s Expo.”
Savant Booth Will Have 100+ Devices Connected
Savant will be showcasing several important new technologies at CEDIA (booth #4825). Throughout the large-scale tradeshow booth, Savant will be operating as many as 100 connected devices all intersecting on the network. In its booth, Savant is also relying on Access Networks to supply a fast, secure, reliable and redundant enterprise-grade network.
“Savant has a tremendous array of new products on display at CEDIA 2011 and our ability to demonstrate these technologies properly rests squarely on the stability of the network in our booth,” says the company’s director of marketing Craig Spinner. He cited several products that will piggyback on the network, including its new SmartEnergy Monitor, its new Savant Select remote featuring an integrated iPod touch, and its new IP telephony solutions.
