Belden to Acquire Cybersecurity Company Tripwire for $710 Million
Belden's acquisition of Tripwire to further cybersecurity solutions in industrial and broadcast markets.
Belden Inc., a manufacturer of networking, connectivity, and cable products, has announced it plans to acquire Portland, Ore.-based security software company Tripwire Inc. for $710 million.
By acquiring Tripwire, Belden is seeking to help companies deliver cybersecurity solutions across industrial and broadcast markets.
In September, the two companies partnered to improve infrastructure cybersecurity in manufacturing organizations.
“We look forward to incorporating Tripwire technology into selected Belden products and providing Tripwire with access to existing Belden customers that are anxious to improve the robustness and security of their networks,” says John Stroup, President and CEO of Belden.
Belden said the deal will add 65 cents per share to its adjusted income from continuing operations for 2015.
The deal is expected to close in the first quarter of 2015.
