Amped Wireless, which makes enterprise-grade networking products, announced its latest products at CES 2016. The Chino Hills, Calif.-based manufacturer launched its latest generation High Power ATHENA-EX AC2600 Wi-Fi Range Extender with Advanced MU-MIMO, and the High Power AC2600 Wi-Fi Router with Advanced MU-MIMO.
Amped claims the range extender is the only product type of its kind, and it points out the product features four high-gain antennas and 16 high-power amplifiers. The unit is capable of covering up to 15,000-square feet, while eliminating wireless network dead spots to cover large homes and small business environments.
Other features built into the range extender include five gigabit ports that dealers can use to connect wired devices such as printers, computers and gaming consoles, and it also offers two USB ports to facilitate filing sharing functions.
The companion AC2600 router is unlike most routers, the company says, because it can stream to as many as four devices at once without sacrificing network speed. The router incorporates four high-gain antennas, 16 high-power amplifiers, four gigabit ports, and USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports.
