Are You Celebrating National AV Week?
Well, guess what, it's 5 years old and it's this week! October 17-23 has been declared "AV Week" by InfoComm.
For many years, we have been making the case for increased national exposure for the custom electronics industry via a national campaign ... aka “Got Milk?”
There’s already federally-passed resolutions for “National Pollinator Week,” “National Robotics Week,” and even “National Beanpole Week.”
InfoComm International has taken a step in the right direction. For the fifth year, it is celebrating AV Week, which takes place October 17-23.
InfoComm and its members “sponsor workshops, presentations, career fairs and other events around the globe to spotlight the audiovisual industry and to recognize the AV professionals who manufacture, design and install AV technology,” according to its website. During the week, InfoComm offers special toolkit downloads on its website and encourages its membership to be more actively engaged on its website.
Crestron kicked off its own celebration by hiring 10 new employees at its world headquarters in Rockleigh, N.J.
Vincent Bruno, Crestron director of marketing, says, “There’s no better way to celebrate the strength, innovation, vibrancy and leadership of our industry than to attract and train fresh new talent and welcome them into our industry.”
Bruno adds, “When people see what we do, they get inspired. That’s what AV week is all about.”
I have to admit, I was unaware of InfoComm’s efforts to increase awareness, but I give it a pat on the back. Oct. 17-23 is also National Chemistry Week, so I am having a bit of a quandary.
