Android Version of My Russound App Now Available
Russound has released an Android version of its My Russound App that allows complete control of C-Series multiroom systems.
Russound has been pretty busy lately. The company recently beefed up the music options for its C-Series to sling more streaming goodness to those systems, and Russound is also putting the finishing touches on an impending release of its wired/wireless XStream system.
Now Russound is making it easier for your clients to operate and enjoy audio systems around the house by releasing an Android version of its My Russound app, which recently received an iOS 7 refresh of the Apple version. The app is available through the Google Play Store for $9.99.
The My Russound app delivers control for its C-Series multiroom systems, offering the same functionality and control of its C-Series controllers, DMS 3.1 media streamer and the impending XStream X5 system.
That means clients will have from their Android device full wireless control of all audio zone functions, such as source selection, modes, tone controls, volume, power and other commands, according to Russound. Plus it includes all the colorful metadata like album cover art, artist info, song and album info and more from your client’s own digital music collection being commanded as well as the streaming media content.
As part of the app operation, certain settings can be customized to make things as personalized and easy to control as possible from a hand-held remote.
Russound adds notes on the app spec: “The app is designed for a 2.3 version Android operating system or later. Similarly, it requires a Russound C-Series controller with 7.00.02 version firmware or later. Systems using a DMS 3.1 media streamer will need 5.00.05 version firmware or later. In addition, it is only supported on the MCA-C3 and MCA-C5 series of multiroom audio controllers. To confirm compatibility, or upgrade firmware, visit Russound.com to find a local dealer.”
