8 Must-See Exhibitors at EHX@CES
Find out what happens in Vegas when custom-channel exhibitors invade CES 2010.
As a custom electronics pro, you may have been more likely over recent years to book a trip to Vegas for a bachelor party than for the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES).
But with the introduction of EHX@CES for 2010, CES isn’t just gadgets gone wild anymore.
An infusion of exhibitors (click here for exhibitor list) who have their eyes on the custom industry is good reason to celebrate and hit Las Vegas for the January 7–10 expo.
CE pros will be able to participate in manufacturer trainings and presentations at CE Pro Headquarters (HQ) on the show floor. Vendors will be offering short presentations and Q&A sessions on a running basis in this area throughout the show. There also will be free trainings in meeting rooms adjacent to the EHX@CES part of the expo floor.
Because exhibitors will be custom-focused, EHX@CES will make it easier for the custom pro attendees to be noticed by them, too. During registration, you can indicate if you’re attending EHX@CES and receive a special ribbon — so special it’ll earn you free beer at CE Pro HQ and entrance to an exclusive reception that will be held there.
The ribbon is also what grants you the free, unlimited access to trainings and presentations, and even access to the High Performance Audio Demo Rooms at the Venetian.
If you arrive in Vegas on January 6, you may be able to catch the 6:30 p.m. CES keynote address by Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer — we’re sure he’ll be talking up Windows Media Center.
Here are some other highlights the EHX@CES exhibitors told us they would be featuring in their booths.
ekeyUSA. New fingerprint scanner integrated into a high-profile door handle. The company will also be demonstrating new features for ekey home: change door open time, and open door and activate alarm system with single finger swipe. New features for ekey net will demonstrate fingerprint support with RFID card, plus Wiegand interface support.
Philips Pronto. The company is showing its new 2-way integration modules for Pronto, including ProntoScript modules for solutions such as Sonos multiroom audio, Sonance iPort iPod docking stations and Lutron Radio RA 2 lighting control systems. There will be live demonstrations of the total Pronto system, as well as professional trainings that will discuss the latest features with December’s newest software release.
Holovision. The booth will showcase Holovision’s new line of entry access systems featuring biometric and keypad entries, dual intercom systems and custom design options.
