Hardware gets all the hype in consumer electronics. Big TVs. Speakers. Home theater components. They seem to dominate the “best of the year” lists from the general media.
And it used be that way for integrators; a popular piece of hardware with a 50-point margin boosts revenues and profits.
But, of course, integrators know margin-laden categories are few and far between these days. For custom integrators, those whiz-bang products can sometimes be less valuable than a solid piece of software.
I know what you are thinking: “Software is boring (and so are you to be writing about this stuff).” But if you can program equipment faster and keep a handle on your overall business, it means more money in your pocket.
With that in mind, we’ve compiled seven breakthrough pieces of software introduced in 2012 that will help your custom installation company.
