Panelists: Micha Risling, Marketing Chair, HDBaseT Alliance; Derek Flickinger, Interactive Homes Inc.
In an industry that seems to have a difficult time ever establishing standards, the HDBaseT Alliance is trying to tame the Wild West by moving to get its technology accepted as the de facto standard for HD digital signal connectivity.
The technology delivers uncompressed HD video, audio, power, Internet and various control signals through a single Cat 5e/6 cable. Because of the distance limitations of HDMI, HDBaseT is becoming widely used by integrators in multizone or single-zone long-distance cable runs. The Alliance now touts nearly 50 members, including founding members LG, Samsung, Sony, and Valens Semiconductor and high-profile members such as AMX, Crestron, Atlona, DPI, Kramer and more.
In this fast-paced CE Pro webinar, attendees will learn exactly what the technology is, how it affects signal transmission quality, distance limitations, typical connectivity topology, and specific applications in both residential and commercial applications. The session will also dispel the myths surrounding HDMI and HDBaseT.
Attendees will hear from both manufacturers and integrators in the field regarding applications for digital signage, front projection, video surveillance and more. Attendees will also get an outline of the new HDBaseT Certification Program.
