Designing, Installing and Troubleshooting Distributed HDMI Systems

This hour-long webinar is tailored to A/V and IT designers looking to create a robust HDMI distribution solution. It introduces specific technologies that allow the conversion, distribution and extension of HDMI sources to multiple destinations while maintaining HDCP and HDMI compliance.

Solutions will be reviewed for residential and commercial applications that can be controlled using Ethernet, RS232 or infrared control systems.

We will discuss the trend of why integrators are moving from analog A/V distribution systems to HDMI-based, digital A/V distribution systems. Also we’ll go over the basics of how HDMI sets up a connection including Hot Plug, EDID, HDCP and CEC considerations, plus aspects such as separating the audio from the video during distribution. Next we’ll look at when an installer should use an HDMI cable versus an extension product. There are many HDMI extension and distribution options available, so we’ll break down their technologies so integrators can make a better, more informed choice when considering different HDMI distribution solutions.

Finally, we’ll examine some useful HDMI tools and troubleshooting techniques that can help installations go smoother, and allow them to field fewer service calls.
