ViewSonic ViewPad 10
Robert Archer | 01/25 04:18 AM,
Some people have dubbed 2011 as the year of the tablet. Legitimizing this title are products like the newly announced ViewPad 10 from ViewSonic. Launched at the just completed CES Show in Las Vegas, the ViewPad 10 offers users a 10.1-inch screen, Wi-Fi connectivity, dual operating systems that includes a choice of Windows 7 or Google's Android 1.6, an Intel Atom 1.66GHz processor and a 1024x600 LED backlit screen. ViewSonic says that it incorporates dual operating systems to provide users the opportunity to utilize Flash-based programs and Windows programs for…

The closest near-miss might have been HP,…

Niveus Media, one of the original developers of Windows Media Center systems for the channel, has added Sirius XM satellite radio to its content offerings. To be sure, you can access Sirius XM via other Media Center interfaces, but none looks quite like this one. Niveus is well known for taking traditional services – like home control, movie management and multizone content distribution – and wrapping them into a seamless Media Center interface. “You’ll notice it looks a lot like our Niveus Movie Library,” says Niveus CEO Tim Cutting. “Like…

The non-profit Media Center Integrator Alliance (MCIA) recently celebrated its first birthday. In one year, the MCIA has had to shift gears a number of times, accommodating an economy it didn't expect to be quite so rocky. MCIA president Kevin Collins reflected on that tough first 365 days. With one year under your belt, how do you feel about MCIA's progress? Last year, we formed before we had an inkling of this economic downturn. We had three major premises when we formed: General awarenessTrainingToolsWe came out with objectives, and we…
