By now, you probably know Tosy by the pre-show press surrounding Justin Bieber, who will appear today at the Tosy booth from 1:00 to 3:00 pm in the Robotics TechZone at CES 2012 (South Hall, lower level, around 21964). But you should get to know Tosy by some of the cool robotics that the Vietnamese company makes. During CES, Tosy demonstrated the SketRobo, which reportedly can teach kids how to draw but really it’s just a cool toy. The little fella sits in a chair and draws whatever you ask.… View this story

If you asked CES 2011 attendees which one product they’d want to take home from the show floor, I bet half of them (75% of the geeks in attendance and 25% of the general population) would say the Thing-O-Matic from MakerBot Industries. Thing-O-Matic is what we lay people call a 3D printer, and what manufacturers might call a rapid prototyping machine. It is, in fact, both – a fun way to make 3D things, and an affordable way to create rough models of new products. And it’s mesmerizing to watch.… View this story
