Mace Security Loses $1M in Q2

Mace Security International, Inc. (OTCQB: MACE) has announced its financial results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2011, showing a loss of $1 million for the quarter and $2.2 million for the first half of 2011. However, the quarter was deemed a positive one by president and CEO Dennis Raefield for several reasons. Mace Pleads Guilty, Pays $100K EPA Fine

The Federal District Court for Vermont has accepted a plea agreement from Mace Personal Defense, Inc. for storing hazardous waste at its Bennington, Vt. facility. Mace Personal Defense, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Mace Security International, Inc (OTCQB: MACE), will pay a fine of $100,000 to settle the one felony charge. Mace paid $34,000 of the fine on May 26, 2011, and two additional installments of $33,000 each, are due on July 4, 2011 and January 4, 2012. Mace has spent $785,000 cleaning up the site. Mace Acquires The Command Center

Mace Security International in Horsham, Pa. has acquired the entire stock of The Command Center Inc. (TCCI), a 20,000-account central station based in Corona, Calif. The purchase price was not disclosed. It is the first expansion of Mace's Central Station (Mace CS) located in Anaheim, Calif, which Mace acquired in 2009. TCCI operates a wholesale central station and handles approximately 20,000 accounts from over 70 dealers. For the immediate future, operations will continue in the Corona central station facility.
