There’s a new multiroom audio company in the CE pro channel, but you probably already have an account with them: URC. At CEDIA 2010, the popular manufacturer of universal remotes will introduce a full slate of audio products including multi- and single-zone amplifiers, a streaming media player and a hard-button in-wall keypad. URC Multizone Audio Pricing Very Competitive

URC, set to debut its Total Control line at CEDIA Expo 2010 in Atlanta next week, has announced pricing for the new multiroom audio line. The Total Control line includes a 6/8-zone amp, single-zone amp, MRX-100 networked controller, two universal remotes, three IP cameras, a keypad, networked media player and more. Manufacturers of connected TVs are so enamored of Facebook, Skype and other silly widgets, they ignore the obvious. I've always believed that the most obvious killer app for networked TVs is the ability to incorporate CCTV (surveillance cameras) into the display: When the doorbell rings, the TV displays the visitor in a PIP window, or even turns on the TV if it's not already on.
