Panamorph UH480 Anamorphic Lens
Robert Archer | 02/12 01:09 PM, 0 Comments
DVD, surround sound, HDTV, Blu-ray and streaming media have kept the home theater category growing for years. The final element has been added with anamorphic lens systems and companion 2.40:1 screens. CinemaScope was an expensive upgrade option that few could afford a few years ago when it was introduced. Since that time, however, Panamorph has promoted its retrofittable, more affordable fixed lens and automated lens solutions, helping folks make the transition from 1.78:1 to CinemaScope. I recently installed Panamorph’s Anamorphic UH480 Lens. After unpacking the two small boxes, I assembled… View this story

We originally planned on showing you guys some of our favorite "Budget Home Theaters." But that's boring. We've rounded up some of the most over-the-top, super-expensive home theaters that will make most of us drool. You'll see a home theater in Beverly Hills adjacent to a swimming pool, a theater that resides 14 feet underneath a three-car garage, and a theater that looks like an opera house. During our Spotlight on Home Theater, we are offering you all the inspiration you need for that next theater install, including our favorite:… View this story

Stewart Filmscreen has always been ahead of the curve when it comes to projection screens - like its CineCurve that's made super-wide CinemaScope theater setups more common. The new Cabaret Screen focuses more on style than 'Scope, while not compromising performance for aesthetics. The Cabaret was designed especially for those with a brightly lit media environment rather than a dark dedicated theater. Stewart offers the motorized screen in an array of sizes, shapes, materials, mounting scenarios and bezel colors. The Cabaret even features complementary LED backlighting as an option for… View this story

The CinemaScope widescreen viewing experience provides dealers with a new way to tap into their existing client bases, thanks to lens systems that provide opportunities for installers to retrofit existing 16:9 projection systems for 2.35:1. Leading the way in the 2.35 movement have been companies like Runco and Stewart Filmscreen, who have been advocating the benefits of high-definition video systems capable of displaying CinemaScope content. Panamorph, which manufactures conversion lenses for home theater projectors, offers the UH480 lens and the IR-controlled ATH1 transport to turn a standard 16:9 projector into… View this story

Since its introduction to the public a few years ago as a home theater concept, anamorphic home cinema systems have grown steadily in acceptance. Custom installers have used CinemaScope solutions to combat not only that pesky letterboxing, but the commoditization of the video category. With the help of anamorphic lenses, super-wide screens and high-performance projectors, integrators have been able to offer a step-up theater experience to clients. CinemaScope has been, for the most part, universally applauded for its ability to deliver high-definition images in the correct aspect ratio without adding… View this story
