The term powerline carrier (PLC) has gained respectability among CE pros, thanks to the efforts of the HomePlug Alliance and its members, which include familiar companies like NuVo Technologies, Russound, and Plaster Networks. The HomePlug Alliance offers the manufacturing community two standards: HomePlug 1.0 and HomePlug AV. Ever since Collage was first announced at CEDIA Expo 2008, Russound has been promoting the heck out of it. It's promising that the retrofittable Collage will breathe new life into the existing home audio market.
