4G LTE could be the biggest thing in home automation since the iPad, ADT and Z-Wave. The evidence was at the Verizon (VZ) Mobile booth during CES 2011. At the Consumer Electronics Show, the Venetian is the equivalent of audiophile nirvana. Get ready for BlackBerry Tablet OS, the potential new Android and iPad killer from Research in Motion (Nasdaq: RIMM). During CES 2011, RIM demonstrated its first implementation of the OS, the new 7-inch BlackBerry PlayBook. But for a lack of apps -- a biggie, of course -- the PlayBook easily beats iPad and definitely gives Android-based tablets a run for the money.
