People apparently weren’t all that mad at Netflix for raising its prices last year. The Convergence Consulting Group (via Entertainment Weekly) reports that about one million people dropped cable and satellite services in 2011 and turned to Netflix, Hulu and iTunes for their content. The report says 2.7 million U.S subscribers have said goodbye to cable and satellite services over the past three years. However, a million of those were just in 2011. The CCG says that 900,000 more will follow this year. Of course, that’s just a drop in…

After all, how many of your service’s 200-plus channels do you actually watch on a regular basis? Source: GigaOMAnother reason could be that consumers have more options than ever. Despite…

New Netflix Rates Will Delay My Cord Cutting
Julie Jacobson | 07/13 04:55 AM,
With Hulu Plus and Netflix, I was so close to cutting the cable cord. But now Netflix has gone and raised prices by 60% -- from $9.99 per month to $15.98 per month – for unlimited streaming and one disk per month. You can have one or the other – streaming or hard disk – for $7.99 per month. Here’s how the email exchange went with my husband: Him: [forwarding notice from Netflix] Netflix raising prices Me: [expletive] What would you like to do? Just streaming? No hard disks? We…
