12M Home Automation Systems Worldwide by 2016

While approximately 1.8 million home automation systems have shipped globally in 2011, ABI Research projects that number will increase to over 12 million shipments by 2016, largely due to the fact that service providers are entering the managed home automation market. In the U.S., ABI's "Home Automation and Monitoring" study cites the entrance of Verizon and its $9.99/month offering as a primary driver of market growth. 802.11n WAP Shipments Up 44% in 2009

802.11n WLAN access point shipments increased by nearly 44 percent in 2009 and are expected to exceed a total of 32 million by the end of 2010, according to ABI Research. In the SOHO (small office/home office) and consumer markets, a total of 7.7 million 802.11n Wi-Fi access points shipped in the first three quarters of 2009.
