Elkie - have you used that tester? It seems like the original post was looking for recommendations based upon experience and perhaps the link you sent was just a result of a search. Upon reading briefly it appears the product you are recommending is actually a DVI tester which could be used to “test” HDMI if using DVI to HDMI adapters. But, that is not really an HDMI test. So, to the original post, what are you needing to test? If a cable works? Or are you wanting to verify more than that? Obviously the simple test for a cable is to plug it in to a source and display and verify you get a picture. And if you want to check the bandwidth, make sure the source is 1080p and confirm on the display.
As for testing HDMI signal, the best I’ve seen are the DM Tools available in the Crestron products. But that is much more than just a simple tester. Probably not what you were looking for.
