Q. I work at Marine Corps Logistics Base in CA and we recently had an AMX system installed in the Commander’s workshop. It controls 4 monitors that drop from the ceiling and can display up to 4 different forms of media from 4 different sources. The remote is docked on the wall and requires a password to undock it or just to use it while docked. Yesterday the AMX remote would not wake to receive the passcode and we can’t get it to do so still. When you press the screen; you can hear the noise it makes as if you are putting in the passcode but no matter what we try, we can’t see anything. Any troubleshooting suggestions? We tried shutting the system down and rebooting it and we are at our whit’s end. - Katherine, Yermo, CA

Without all of the details, you are asking a very difficult question by painting some very broad strokes.

I wish I could be of more help, but for now here’s my suggestion;

Marines are heavily armed. Go back to the original dealer/installer and convince them that it’s in their best interest to get the system up & running ASAP.

Katherine,

It sounds like you have one of a couple issues. . .

Most likely the panel is not asleep as the it would wake upon a momentary touch, per AMX
•Sleep: Only the backlight will be turned off after the user selectable time of inactivity has elapsed. Panel resumes the ON mode in ~ 1 second upon a momentary press of the touchscreen.

However, it very well could be in shutdown, per AMX
•Shutdown: Power to all peripherals and components is turned off. The system remains in this mode until either it is rebooted or the battery is completely drained. The panel is re-activated by pressing the touchscreen and holding until the AMX splash screen appears.

How old is it? as it may be a case of the backlight being dead as well.  I’m up in Orange and have done work for the seagoing folks in Point Loma there, so if you need a set of eyes to look at it with you, I could do that for you as well.
