I look to be in the minority about Atlanta. I like the town and find the airport good and getting to downtown easy. Biggest issue for me and ATL is that most of the hotels are a shuttle bus ride away from the CC. Denver and Indy are much better in that regard.

This is an exact reason people get frustrated with their governing bodies and vendors…they don’t listen.

Every survey CEDIA has done the members like Denver best.  Yet they move it to Atlanta, then Indy, then ?

Come on, we are the money that keeps our organization going.  When will you listen to us?  I still have yet to hear from anyone at CEDIA justifying why they ignored their members in this area.

Eric, what was it about Denver that you liked so much? We’d love to hear more.

Steve,

For us it is all about business.  We actually don’t see Expo as much more than just a trade show, so our ability to succeed business-wise in the environment is what is most important.

The main advantages of Denver:
Great mass transit, making it easy to stay out of town at nice $49 hotels, but stil be 10 minutes from the show.
Tons of great restaurants witiin .5 miles of the Convention Center
Very ‘square’ venue so walking distances are short
Clean, safe environment after hours
Central location in the country, making it an easy trip for just about anyone
Cheap airfares

The only distadvantage I know of is the distance to the airport, but even that isn’t any worse than any other airport.

Crawford, couldn’t agree with you more. The venue and central location are the two biggest advantages for Denver. In regards to a previous post of yours, I think CEDIA did listen to its members. Just because the show isn’t immediately returning to Denver doesn’t mean CEDIA didn’t listen. Maybe the logistics/dates for Denver in 2011-12 just didn’t make sense. I actually love the idea from TheTechSource, which is to have it in a different state every year. But the logistics of that would be tough.

I didn’t mind Indy but definitely prefer Denver. It is closer for west coast guys and way cheaper. I wouldn’t mind going to Florida or other sunny locations that I can turn into a mini vacation.
