Since vNet tech support is now no longer free, can anyone offer suggestions…

Transfer rate from iTunes tab in vNet Director to AS2800/3 server is super slow or completely errors out without transferring song files

what could be the culprit???

anyone have similar problem, thoughts????

Try re-booting the VIBE server (hold power button in for 5+ seconds to shut down) then power back up.
Also, shut down all touchscreens when loading a CD or transferring from iTunes.

I have an install using 1 of the first release VIBE servers that is very sluggish when loading CD’s, even brand new CD’s.
A reboot usually fixes it for a few months. Never had a problem with iTunes xfer though.

Also try a firmware upgrade for the VIBE server.

VIBE Video Server Topology Question

We’re wrapping up a project (just in time)....

If I utilize a player to import a huge collection that is linked to a VN1-600C, can I then take that VN1-600C to another location and will the metadata travel with it?  IE, does the Player retain the media database that is loaded on the VN1 network server.

Thanks,
Craig

I would be interested in purchasing in come Colorado vNet hardwired (and potentially some RF) equipment from any integrators that are looking to sell thier current inventory.

Email me directly at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) to let me know what you are looking to sell, and maybe we can work something out.
I am looking for a decent discount over dealer cost.  If you really need to sell, I have cash and am a serious buyer.  Let’s keep this off the forum, but please email me privately to the address above as I’d like to see if we can help eachother out.

Thanks!

Once collateral is persisted on the network storage device’s database, that network storage device can be relocated to another network instance. Any server/player affixed to the “new network” is capable of attaching to the relocated storage device and will render the content on the storage device. NAS and Servers are both network storage devices, whilst a Player is not.

Content and metadata are persisted on and travel with the network storage device ... from a playback perspecitve, you’re “good to go.”

Hope this helps.

Hello guys,

we were an early adopter, I keep wondering if what killed Colorado Vnet in, was there slavish desire to keep everything in house and not allow their products to be part of a more open architecture like Netstreams did, as well as not having a separate rep firms like Netstreams did with AVAD>

I was always frustrated that you couldn’t get their interfaces on a system remote to control a theater, I was frustrated you had no local source provisions, and I was frustrated that you couldn’t do a door bell interface, or get an analog output from their server or have a speaker or mic on the touch panel.

I fell in love with the sound quality and their truly excellent gui and fair pricing. It seems that at the end they were starting to emulate some of the key features that many other companies were offering and were starting to offer a complete package. What are your opinions?

I have an original music server, with the Tuner module,1 VIBE 7inch Touch Panel, and an IPOD Dock for sale. Open to offers I would like to sell all the pieces together if possible. Dave 646-239-7724

Even though it appears as if Vnet might be back in business, my company is still selling Vnet parts that are NEW.

We had a job switch away from Vnet during the uncertainty of the past two weeks and they won’t be switching back.  So I still have brand new unopened Vnet parts that I’m selling at LESS than Platinum pricing and with free shipping.

So that is less than you’d pay Vnet directly and they will charge you shipping.  If you have any interest in these parts please let me know and I will email you a parts/price list.  my email is .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)

Since vNet was acquired by Russound, we will no longer allow posts concerning buying and selling vNet product, per our general policy.

Thank you.

I’m a huge fan of vNet and am thrilled that they will continue to make great products.

Having said that, one of my chief complaints was always that the company never promoted any interaction between their dealers.

This complaint was heard often over the past month: Not easy to integrate, not easy to communicate.

How about having a site with forums such as this one where we can questions of each other, share success and failures and learn.  Tech support staff are great for certain issues, but they’ll never have the field experience which we have.  Take another step and put the app notes online.  Right now there are only a handful available, and the others seem to be handed out as needed by tech support.

Thanks and good luck!
