Will Herman Miller drive lighting automation technology?

A recent article in fortune magazine http://www.convia.com/assets/7918/FORTUNE-Herman-Miller-Furniture-Design.pdf has me thinking about how automation technology is being promoted. Who imagined Herman Miller would be one of the drivers?

Basically the article outlines how the Herman Miller company is backing a flexible electrical infrastructure for office space that allows switches to be moved and re-associated with lighting fixtures “on-demand”. Sounds like a perfect case for PLC or RF based lighting control technology to me.
