Need help with warehouse wiring

Hello All,

We’re going to be wiring a warehouse and the client needs cat 5 dropped to a couple locations throughout a huge, empty warehouse. The drops will not be close to any support columns and the floor needs to be clear for fork lifts.

I need a way of safely and securely dropping cat 5 from the ceiling (30 ft by the way) down to floor level and have it supported.

Does anyone have ideas?

Anchor a I-Bolt in the ceiling and drop a “wire rope” to the floor or counter your terminating the CAT5. Tie-wrap the CAT5 cables to the wire rope.

You’ll need the right wire rope connecting parts, which are important to do the job right. I get parts at a local hardware store, but Lowe’s has wire rope.

I suspended a 50” Plasma 15 feet off the floor in a chiropractors office with wire rope.

Industrial construction cable installation requires totally different installlation hardware as welll as code differences. I don’t do it any longer due to difficultly/risk vs. reward.
