Q My Kustom 7200 PA quit. The fuse was blown and a new one blew right away. I also found a short in one of my 8ohm cabs. That caused the damage I guess.

Can you give me an idea what may be damaged in the amp when speaker is shorted like that? - Lee in Paradise Newfoundland

Lee- Fuses are designed to protect power supplies, output transistors or IC’s and any mumber of other components in amplifiers rom over current conditions. A second fuse blowing right away indicates the damage is already done. Find a repair center to look at the amp and make recommendations as to the extent of the damage. In my experience it’s a 50-50 proposition… sometimes the power supply will sacrifice a small component, say a voltage regulator, or in extreme cases the power transformer(s). You’ll won’tknow until a technician gives it a look-see. Hope this helps.
