Programming remotes for changes can be a big one.

We always get stuck doing the cable companies job. Putting new fittings on cables, activating cable boxes, setting up the proper aspect ratio and resolution, checking signal strength, replacing splitters, etc, etc, etc.

Programming time can definitely add up too.

Building and wiring the rack is also an often overlooked time stealer.

Every thing
Bosses Lack of planning, attention to detail send us on site without all the materials required for that day’s work, leaving site to get needed materials.
No documentation of anything! Always have to redo the same job twice (re toning of cables is a big one for us, as is re running cables as the boss forgot to mention the customer needs this, this and this in these locations)
It all goes back to a lack of planning and not getting a floor plan and taking the quote and marking it all out.

Sounds like the boss needs to standardize his procedures, maybe use a checklist if he has to. As for the re-toning of cables, careful documentation on the cable itself when its being pulled is the only way to avoid this.

Drive time.  For sure.  Everything else is measured in minutes.  Drive time is measured in hours.
