Hi my name is Brian and I have been at this game for almost 10 years.  I started out as an electrician but I found that I enjoyed the ever changing world of A/V.  Because of my electrical background I do a lot of work with Lutron, from programming to installation.  I also work with Cresrton and wide range of other products.  I look forward from learning new things from other and I will pass on what I have learned over the years.

Hey Jason,
I relocated TO the Boston area from Toronto a number of years ago…no accent smile
I’ve been in CE for 20 years and I own and operate a small consumer electronics consulting/services business.
My background is in sales, training and consumer engagement, but my experience enables me to provide an array of business services.
Open for business, referrals, networking…or just help…

CE Pro continues to be a great industry / business resource…thanks..!

My name is Shannon Orebaugh, Custom Wiring Concepts in Harrisonburg VA, the middle of the beautiful Shenandoah Valley.

Started the business in September 2002 and currently have 5 employees. We purchased and built a new custom built showroom and office. We have about a 50/50 split in both commercial and residential service.

Still pretty busy, but continued negative news has me very worried. We have a solid local economy, so I’m hopeful. The existing home market is where a majoriy of new business has to come from, question is how to get to those customers. I’ve decided to go for it with 6 months of cable tv advertising in additional to calling exisitng customers, networking, etc…

Good luck….

Hello All,

My name is Keith and I live and work in the NW suburbs of Chicago. I work for Inspired Electronics, Inc., a family owned company. I began work there in late 2006. In my past professional life I spent 7 years working in a hardware store during high school, and then to put myself through college where I majored in multi-media & web design.

Growing up in a workshop, working in a hardware store, being raised by a computer geek and an artist, and earning an education in design… this industry really taps into a lot of my interests, and provides great opportunities to solve problems, learn something new every day and have a lot of fun in the meantime.

Looking forward to becoming more active in the forums!

Take care everyone!

My name is Isaac Imig, I am 21, and I manage Gorge Audio/Video. We are a low voltage division of an electrical contractor known as Gorge Electric. We are a full service company with all the traditional offerings including structured wiring, networks, home theater, distributed audio/video, central vac, and the like. I am looking to surpass customer’s expectations and really make a mark in the region as the authority for AV and the electronic mediums for entertainment we rely on so heavily today.

My name is Mickey, I am the head systems tech at the Great Island Boatyard.  We service yachts up to 60+ feet, mainly doing refits and aftermarket installations.  Due to the marine industry usually being the last to catch up with the rest of the world I find myself dealing more and more with residential and land based products.  While alot of our work is specifically marine electronics there is a market for networking those electronics into the entertainment systems, which usually causes headaches for me to try to figure out how to do it.

I have already found this site very helpful and I look foward in tapping you other professionals for advice.  It is good to have a place like this around.  Thanks.

Hi all my name is Eric and thank you for opening up a introduce yourself forum for newbies/rookies like myself. I was in the real estate before I got an offer to partner in with the Advanced Wire Group Corp. at http://www.awgcables.com located in Brea, CA.  My partners are well knowledged in the wire & cable field, as for me they help and teach me on any questions that I have, but I look to CEpro for questions and answers on the various topics/posts to get more insights. As such our partners have developed and patented a HDMI Locking cable and other unique products to contribute and come up with a solution to the problems installers/distributors faces.  With the economy like this we know our company can help provide solutions and with the real estate market stabilizing in some parts of the country now, hopefully business will pick back up for the system integrators/installers in their area…stay strong and hold on guys!

Kindest regards,

Eric

I am Wade Wong with Psychoacoustic Solutions. Our company is a R & D company for audio technologies. We have no product to sell. We license our audio technologies like DTS, Dolby and SRS do

We have 3 surround sounnd technologies. We would like you folks out there to listen to the demos at our site http://www.psychoacousticsolution.com and give us feedback both good and bad. Password for the demo page is “test1” without the ” “. You can find the technical details at our web site.

3 technologies:

1. We can convert 5.1/7.1 surround sound to left and right channels so listener can hear surround sound with a pair of REGULAR headphones or speakers. It does not require the listener to buy new equipment or upgrade the existing equipment.

2. Our Sonic Image Sound Projector is a 5.1/7.1 speaker system in a single enclosure. It has only 2 full range speakers in a single enclosure. It is not a sound bar which has 10-20 speakers pointing at different angles to the listener. Our projector can provide “sweet spot” everywhere within the sound field. There is one “sweet spot” using a 6 speakers surround sound system or “sweet spot” in a straight line for the sound bar system.

3. Tradition amplifier in the market is voltage driven and ours is voltage and current driven. Our amplifier can remove 80% (100% in June) of the back emf error.

If you are in the San Francisco area and want to hear the live demo, please contact me.
