CE Pro asked a bunch of integrators about their CEDIA Expo 2009 plans and expectations. Quite a few responded that they don’t plan to attend, citing tough times and considerable expenses.

We asked CEDIA about expected attendance figures and the fact that some high-profile manufacturers won’t exhibit at the 2009 show. Here’s what we got:

“The trade show industry is seeing an overall decrease of 20 to 25 percent,” says CEDIA director of PR Jamie Antcliff. “CEDIA Expo has experienced some downsizing of exhibitor booths.”

So, when we see (and write) headlines about CEDIA Expo 2009’s attendance being down, we won’t be surprised.

Let’s agree on something ..... ATTENDANCE FIGURES DON’T MATTER

All that matters is that there are good product releases and good networking opporutnities at the show.

Am I wrong? Should I care that attendance is likely to be down at CEDIA Expo 2009?
