Sanus Systems Ships Motorized Mount with Remote Tilting Capabilities

Sanus Systems is now shipping the VisionMount LMT15 Motorized Tilting Mount, the newest addition to the company's award-winning VisionMount line. The LMT15 offers automated movement by remote control, making it easy for consumers to adjust the viewing angle of their TVs.
The LMT15 automatically tilts to a pre-set position up to 13° when the TV is turned on, or the user can position it as desired with an included IR remote control. When the TV is turned off, the mount returns to its home position against the wall for a low-profile appearance.
"Motorized tilting mounts are the perfect solution for applications where automated movement is desirable, such as above fireplaces and other hard-to-reach locations, or where you might need to reduce glare on the TV screen," said Keith Pribyl, vice president of consumer sales for Sanus.
The LMT15 offers a variety of features, including: ClickFit technology that allows power conditioners and other small accessories to snap onto the mount, so they're…

Chief Files Patents for Thinnest Universal Mounts on the Planet

The patents are filed, and Chief Manufacturing is now poised to launch the thinnest thin TV mounts ever.
The company gave CE Pro the first look at its new family of Thinstall flat-panel mounts called Thinstall Universal, available in tilt and fixed models.
Chief's original Thinstall mount – the one you see in the advertisements with a penny shown for reference – were pretty thin, with a depth of only .49 inches.
The problem was that the product was made for a single display, the Hitachi Ultra Thin TV.
The new models are universal, which is a good thing given all of the ultra-flat TVs now on the market.

FLATTER THAN THE ORIGINAL
The new Thinstall Universal trumps Chief's original mount, made famous by this ad.
Plus, they're even thinner than the originals, leaving only a .39-inch gap between the back of…

Chief, Sanus Debut Motorized Tilt Mount

Chief Manufacturing and Sanus – sister mount manufacturers under the Milestone umbrella – are unveiling at CEDIA 2008 an automated tilt mount with a unique "remote control."
The unit, Sanus VisionMount LT15 (And Chief's CM8), is triggered by the optical audio connection on the TV. Sensing light from the fiber optic connector, the mount tilts forward when the TV is powered on, and returns flush to the wall (with a mere 3.3-inch offset) when the TV is turned off.
"Most TVs have optical audio, and hardly anyone uses it," says Sanus chief Jim Wohlford.
He says the mount is "perfect for above the fireplace," and other inaccessible locations where the TV may be too high for a comfortable viewing experience.

Chief Intros Mount Builder

Selecting the right mount and accessories for a given installation is now just a few clicks away.
Chief Manufacturing introduced its new online Mount Builder in June at the commercial-oriented tradeshow Infocomm, populating the application with the company's projector mounts. Dealers start by selecting the ceiling type (wood, concrete truss), and the system automatically calculates the weight capacity. As poles and accessories are added, the program draws the mount, calculates drop distance, builds a parts list and recommends accessories.
When you enter your projector's model number, it offers you a variety of compatible mounting plates.
"You can save your configurations, and email it to customers and contractors," says Chief spokesperson Sara Schiffler.
Mount Builder for wall mounts will debut at the CEDIA Expo 2008 in September.
The tool is different from MountFinder, which Chief introduced last year. MountFinder is an easy way to find the appropriate mount for your application, with…
